Founded on 20th May 1933 the Turkish Airlines is the national flag carrier of turkey. Its main hub is the Istanbul Ataturk airport whereas the secondary hub of this airline is at Sabiha Gokcen International Airport. The Turkish Airline is an esteemed member of Star Alliance since 1st April 2008. This company generated employment for 18,882 individuals in the year 2013.

Operating a fleet size of as large as 262 airplanes the Turkish airlines flies passengers to a total of 261 destinations across the globe. It provides aviation services to passengers across the continents of Europe, Africa, Asia and Americas. Hence the Turkish airlines has succeeded  in making its mark as the fourth largest air carrier in the world in terms of number of destinations it connects to. The Turkish Airline fleet comprises of Airbus A319-100, Airbus A320-200, Airbus A321-200, Airbus A321neo, Airbus A330-200, Airbus 330-300, Airbus A340-300, Boeing 737-70, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-900ER, Boeing 737 MAX 9, Boeing 777- 300ER and Embraer 190. Turkish Airlines also operates cargo fleets via Airbus A310-300F and Airbus A330-20F.

Awards

Turkish Airlines has won the Skytrax awards for Europe’s Best Airline not for one or twice but for four times till yet. It is also the proud winner of Southern Europe’s Best Airline and the World’s Best Premium Economy class Airline seat awards for three years consecutively in 2011, 2012 and 2013. This airline has also been chosen as the Airline of the Year by Air Transport News in 2013.
